The Boston Celtics are trying to move on from $100 million guard Anfernee Simons, whom they acquired in a deal for Jrue Holiday during the earlier stages of the offseason.
According to Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets have shown interest in the youngster.
“The 76ers and Nuggets are among the teams that have expressed interest in a possible trade for Celtics guard Anfernee Simons, NBA sources told Hoops Wire,” he reported.
Could Bucks be eyeing Anfernee Simons?
When Amico reported this over the weekend, he also noted that the Milwaukee Bucks will be another team that will make a run at Simons before training camp.
The Bucks could be looking for another guard to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo, and with his ability to score the basketball at a high level, it makes sense for them to have some level of Interest.
“Sources said the Bucks could be another team that will make a run at Simons before training camp,” he added.

The question for the Celtics and Bucks would be centered around what they’d have to give up, and if a trade would even be possible between two of the biggest rivals in the NBA.
While the Celtics are expected to struggle a bit next season, they don’t want to directly help the Bucks if Brad Stevens thinks that Simons would do that.
In the 2024-25 season, Simons averaged 19.3 points, 4.8 assists, and shot 36.3% from 3-point range.
The 26-year-old is an above-average player, but for some reason, the Celtics haven’t found the right trade just yet. It could take some more time, but it’s good to see that a few teams at least have interest.
