Real Madrid star drops major hint amid departure rumours

Real Madrid have had a busy summer transfer window with multiple signings mainly focused on strengthening their defense after failing to win any major trophies last season.

Xabi Alonso is hoping to change the narrative in the Spanish capital as Los Blancos are one of just three teams in La Liga to win their first two games in the 2025/26 season.

Real Madrid registered a dominant 3-0 weekend victory over Real Oviedo with Kylian Mbappe scoring a brace and Vinicius Jr. getting into the scoresheet after coming on from the bench.

However, following the match, there were reports via AS suggesting Real Madrid are expecting sales on a couple of players in the transfer window.

They reportedly are waiting for calls from Premier League clubs for Dani Ceballos and Rodrygo Goes.

While Rodrygo started against Oviedo, Ceballos only made a brief appearance in the second half and talks surrounding his departure are intensifying in the market.

The 29-year-old is probably the sixth option in midfield for Alonso and the Spain international may look at other options seeking more game time.

What exit hint did Dani Ceballos drop?

Following the win over Oviedo, Ceballos posted an Instagram story with the caption ‘Last Dance’, indicating his time at Real Madrid could be up as he reportedly has offers from elsewhere.

Earlier reports suggested several unnamed UEFA Champions League outfits have enquired about the 29-year-old, and despite his interest in staying in the Spanish capital, he may move this summer.

Ceballos felt he could fight for his place at Real Madrid, but considering next year’s World Cup, a move away would be more logical to make himself available for Spain’s national team.

Real Madrid are open to selling the midfielder for any bid in the region between €15-20m ($18-23m)

Ceballos joined Los Blancos in 2017 from boyhood club Real Betis and he has a long-standing dream of returning to Andalucia.

The Spain international has also spent two loan spells in Arsenaland a move back to Premier League cannot be ruled out completely.
