How tall is Senne Lammens? Height, stats of Man United goalkeeper transfer target impressing for Antwerp

Manchester United are linked with players with an almost reckless abandon during every transfer window, and the 2025 summer period has been no different.

While the Red Devils have undoubtedly been active in the market, overhauling their attack to become one of the biggest-spending sides in the world since the window opened, there are always plenty of rumours around their transfer plans that have limited basis in reality.

One that does feel a little more realistic has emerged in recent days: United are said to be pursuing a deal for Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens. Fabrizio Romano posted on X on August 22 to say that United were working on the deal and were mindful of other interested parties in Italy and France from getting an agreement lined up first.

A lot of fans have been wondering whether Lammens would be an upgrade on Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, neither of whom have completely convinced Ruben Amorim during his nine months in charge at Old Trafford. Specifically, any new keeper’s ability to command his penalty area from an aerial perspective is high on supporters’ wish lists.

So, does the 23-year-old measure up?

How tall is Senne Lammens?

Senne Lammens is 1.93 metres tall. That’s six feet, four inches in imperial measurements.

That makes the Belgian about an inch taller than Onana, and two inches shorter than Bayindir.

So, why exactly might United want to sign him?

Senne Lammens stats

For one thing, Lammens’ stats for Antwerp over the past 12 months make for impressive reading.

According to Opta stats presented by FBRef, Lammens is in the 93rd percentile when it comes to save percentage among goalkeepers playing in comparable competitions* to the Belgian Pro League over the past year. Even more impressively, he is in the 99th percentile for PsX-GA, which is a means of measuring the number of goals a keeper has prevented based on the likelihood of them making a save.

In other words, Lammens is an outstanding shot-stopper — albeit one who has not yet been tested in a top-five European league, or the UEFA Champions League or Europa League.

United fans will be happy to see he is also ranked in the 99th percentile for crosses stopped over the past year, having successfully intercepted 13.1% of all deliveries into the box. Onana, when compared to other keepers in the big five European leagues or Champions League, is in just the 30th percentile.

In total, Lammens has played 52 Pro League games for Antwerp and was named the club’s player of the season for 2024/25. He is yet to earn a senior cap for Belgium, but he did make the squad for the UEFA Nations League playoff against Ukraine in March 2025.

*FBRef’s comparison for Lammens is based on ‘Men’s Next 14 Competitions’, which are: Argentine Primera, Belgian Pro League, Brazilian Serie A, Dutch Eredivisie, English Championship, French Ligue 2, German 2.Bundesliga,, Italian Serie B, MLS, , Mexican Liga MX, Portuguese Primeira Liga, Spanish Segunda, Copa Libertadores, UEFA Conference League

Senne Lammens transfer fee

Antwerp reportedly want a fee in the region of £17 million ($23m / €19.6m) for Lammens. This would see them make a good return on a player who arrived for no transfer fee just two years ago.

Lammens developed at the Club Brugge academy and made his breakthrough for the Under-19s in the 2019/20 season, when he scored a late equaliser in a UEFA Youth League match against Real Madrid. He then spent a season with the Under-23s before moving up to the first team as cover for the injured Simon Mignolet.

He signed for Antwerp in June 2023 after leaving Brugge when his contract expired.
