There was some concern at Detroit Lions practice this week when center (still getting used to calling him that) Graham Glasgow exited early due to injury.
The injury occurred on Thursday during the joint session with the Houston Texans. The team later revealed that Glasgow was dealing with a lower leg issue, but we didn’t get any news on a timeline.
While we still don’t have an exact timeline as of Friday afternoon, Justin Rogers of the Detroit Football Network revealed that Glasgow’s injury isn’t serious.
“Minor issue, no long-term concern,” Rogers wrote.
The Lions have their preseason finale on Saturday, although Glasgow wasn’t going to play in that. He’ll have two-plus weeks to get right before the Lions kick off the regular season on Sept. 7 against the Green Bay Packers.
Glasgow is one-third of the major changes the Lions are seeing along the offensive line this year after the retirement of Frank Ragnow and departure of Kevin Zeitler.
Following the retirement of Ragnow, Glasgow was locked in a competition with rookie Tate Ratledge for the vacancy up the middle.
It wasn’t long into training camp before Glasgow secured the job over Ratledge, who is now slated to start at right guard in place of the departed Zeitler.
At left guard, 2024 sixth-round pick Christian Mahogany is taking the reins for Glasgow, who started there last season.
