Last season was simply not what Philadelphia 76ers fans have grown accustomed to over the past few years, injuries plaguing the team all the way from October to April and resulting in a 24-58 record for the team, far from any hopes of postseason play.
And with the injury-prone nature of Sixers center Joel Embiid, the team needs another solid veteran option at the five spot, even though the team took Auburn’s Johni Broome with their second-round pick in the draft this year.
Their answer, it seems, could lie down south with the Orlando Magic.
The Sixers Should Trade for this Magic Center
According to Nicolas Kyle Pring of the The Sixer Sense, the team needs to trade for Orlando center Goga Bitadze before the trade deadline, which would allow the team to have that reliable backup option to the former MVP.
“He is a very effective deterrent at the rim, something which completely eluded Drummond in his return to Philly. And unlike the latter, the Georgian big man is also an efficient finisher above the rim,” Pring writes.
Pring also wrote on Orlando’s “increasingly expansive” roster, and how it shouldn’t too much pleading for the team to let Bitadze go.
Bitadze averaged 7.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and two assists in his 70 games played last year with the Magic.
