Real Madrid set to avoid serious complaint on player against Osasuna

Real Madrid’s game against Osasuna could’ve led to issues for Los Blancos as La Liga rules have confused many in regards to registrations. Recently, La Liga clubs have filed serious complaints about other teams playing players who are registered as part of the reserve team while arriving at the club as a first-team player.

This issue is what FC Barcelona is currently facing with Roony Bardghji, who joined the club this summer. The winger did not debut against Mallorca over the weekend due to the player not being registered.

Barcelona planned on registering Bardghji as a player from the club’s reserve team, but La Liga reportedly did not allow it as the league views the player as a first-team player.

Real Madrid recently signed Franco Mastantuono, but the club registered him as a player for the reserve team. Mastantuono wanted the number 30, but the number awarded is also for players in the reserve team, as La Liga wants players from the first team to wear numbers from 1-25.

Mastantuono did not arrive at the club as a reserve player, as the club and Xabi Alonso intend to see the player participate with the first team this season. Osasuna has reportedly filed a complaint for improper lineups in the past, but new reports suggest that will not be the case for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid Avoids Complaint in First La Liga Match

COPE reports that Osasuna will not file a complaint of ‘improper lineup’ if Franco Mastantuono plays today.

The report suggests that Osasuna doesn’t think Real Madrid did anything wrong, as the club believes it’s normal that players registered with the academy or reserve team can play with the first team

Mastantuono is expected to feature against Osasuna after Xabi Alonso’s first press conference suggested the manager has been impressed with the young Argentinian.

Alonso mentions Mastantuono’s ability with his left foot, suggesting the young player can play as a right winger or in an attacking midfielder role.

Xabi Alonso: “Franco Mastantuono has an incredible left foot. He’s very good and he can play tomorrow. He has the quality, the energy, he’s committed defensively, good momentum, the Argentine competitive spirit. He’s good with the final pass. He’s at a very good level.”
