3 key Colts players return to practice amidst flurry of injuries

The Colts got some positive news on the injury front on Tuesday as three key starters all returned to practice.

Nate Atkins of the Indy Star reported that both wide receiver Alec Pierce and cornerback Kenny Moore II were both back on the field after missing the last handful of practices with a groin and knee injury, respectively.

Atikins also noted that left tackle Bernhard Raimann, who was not on the field at all during Indy’s second preseason game against the Packers dealing with an ankle injury, was also back on the field.

Even while it’s not clear in what capacity each player participated in on Tuesday, their returns to practice are rare instances of positive injury news in a summer which has been filled with unfortunate reports, the latest including rookie standout Hunter Wohler being placed on season-ending injured reserve.

But the Colts still have a long way to go before their back to full strength. Cornerbacks Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents, right tackle Braden Smith, wide receiver Josh Downs, running back Tyler Goodson and safety Nick Cross are among the Colts still dealing with various ailments.

As of this time, there is no word on their respective statuses.
