The Houston Rockets have lost some solid big man depth to their frontcourt, as two-way restricted free agent N’Faly Dante has come to an agreement with the Atlanta Hawks on a two-year, $4.5 million offer sheet, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Hawks have already made one notable addition to their frontcourt this offseason when they traded for Kristaps Porzingis from the Boston Celtics. Now, Dante will compete alongside the rest of the Hawks’ roster for a spot in the rotation next season.
Dante appeared in four NBA games for the Rockets last season, averaging 6.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in his limited action. A 6 ’11, shot-blocking big man, Dante has the potential to be a real defensive anchor due to his ability to protect the rim.
Dante was a force in the G-League for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He averaged 15.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in 42 appearances this season. Dante also shot 74 percent from the floor.
He played collegiately at Oregon, where he averaged 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game across five seasons with Oregon. He was named All-PAC-12 twice, and was named PAC-12 All-Defense in 2024.
