Manchester City are once again looking like a team that can challenge for the Premier League title after finish third in the points table last season.
Pep Guardiola has been extremely dominant during his time at City, winning six league titles while he won four consecutive titles between 2021 to 2024.
The Citizens have signed some exceptional talents this summer to bridge the gap between them and the champions Liverpool.
However, they are in all possibilities not done yet as there often links of Gianluigi Donnarumma or Rodrygo Goes moving to City.
With signings, there have been departures too with the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish already phased out and players like James McAtee and Savinho could well be on the brink of moving out of the Etihad Stadium.
Savinho has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur as Thomas Frank is a big admirer of the Brazilian winger.
However, ahead of Man City’s Premier League opener against Wolves, Guardiola expects the 21-year-old to stay at the club for many years as he believes his in potential.

“Whether it’s Tottenham in that case or any other club, a player should call the club. I am only concerned right now that Savinho will be with us for the rest of the season and hopefully many years because at 21 with the potential he has he has to improve in final positions but he is an extraordinary player,” Guardiola told the mead ahead of the game.
“Otherwise, he would not have played more than 3,000 minutes last season. At the end, as always, the desire of the players is above everything but then they have to find an agreement with the club.
“If they don’t take an agreement, the player will be here because the club spends money on those players.”
As per latest reports, Spurs have stepped up in their pursuit of Savinho as they want to close out the deal in the coming with the player representatives flying to Europe from Brazil to hold final talks.
City reportedly value the young winger at around £67m ($78.3m) and it remains to be seen how much Spurs are willing to offer after their first bid got turned down.
Why will Savinho not feature for City against Wolves?
Guardiola revealed Savinho has picked up a knock against Palermo and will be out of action for a few weeks and therefore miss the opener against Wolves on August 16.
However, the Spaniard used the youngster as a squad option last season with him returning with three goals and 13 assists in 48 matches.
The young Brazilian is known for his dribbling and ball carrying abilities. He is also great in 1v1 situations in the final third.
According to Fbref, he has averaged 5.15 shot-creating actions, 6.61 progressive carries, 2.69 successful take-ons and 7.57 touches received in the opponent’s penalty area per 90 minutes.
There could be a possibility that City could sell Savinho to fund the transfer of Rodrygo, who has been linked with a move out of Real Madrid for the entire summer transfer window.
Despite Guardiola’s stance, it looks like Spurs could manage to lure Savinho out of Man City as the Lilywhites see him as a key player in their setup in contrary to his squad role at City.
