Barcelona registration update- Rashford & Garcia set for La Liga debut

FC Barcelona fans continue to face a repeat of last season in terms of concerns with their new players. Dani Olmo arrived last summer, and his participation in the first match days of last season was at risk due to registration issues.

Just one day before Barcelona’s opener against Mallorca, reports emerged of the Catalan club’s struggles to register Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford. Despite the concerns, Garcia was more likely to be registered in the time before the game this weekend.

Rashford’s debut against Mallorca was in doubt, but now new reports suggest that both players will be registered in time for Barcelona’s first game of the new La Liga season.

Spanish journalist Xavi Hernández Navarro reports that both Garcia and Rashford will be registered on time.

Both players featured in all of Barcelona’s preseason games ahead of the new season. They both played in the Joan Gamper Trophy Final, just six days before their La Liga opener.

Hansi Flick on Registration Issues

Hansi Flick spoke in a press conference ahead of the match against Mallorca tomorrow and was asked about the registration issues the club faces.

Barcelona isn’t the only club suffering with these issues, as many other La Liga clubs like Levante and Getafe are struggling to register players just days before the start of the new La Liga season.

Flick was brief with his thoughts on the issue Barcelona and other clubs are facing in La Liga, but was hopeful it could be done by tomorrow’s game.

Hansi Flick: “It’s a situation that doesn’t make me too happy. I trust the club; we have to wait until tomorrow.”
