The Chiefs and Seahawks dusted off their pads for separate games in the first week of preseason, but now it gets a bit more serious. The teams enter Week 2 of the preseason with a matchup on NFL Network.
Kansas City lost last week to the Cardinals with Bailey Zappe being the team’s leading passer. He was underwhelming, but he won’t get much playing time unless Patrick Mahomes misses time.
Much remains the same for the Chiefs. Mahomes is at quarterback, Chris Jones headlines the defense, and Travis Kelce is still a top target at tight end despite regressing last season.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks enter a new era. Sam Darnold is taking over at quarterback, but he didn’t play last week. Instead, Jalen Milroe and Drew Lock, the two backups, played for the rights to be Darnold’s backup.
Last week’s game ended in a tie with the Raiders with Lock being the primary quarterback.
