NHL insider links top remaining free agent forward to Vancouver

The clock is ticking for Jack Roslovic with respects to where he decides to make his future NHL destination. The 28 year old forward is considered by many to be the top forward left in free agency coming off of a 22 goal, 39 point season last year in Carolina.

The question is which teams make the most sense for the Columbus native. NHL insider Frank Seravalli has listed the Vancouver Canucks as a team to look out for in a future Roslovic signing.

The move would make sense for Vancouver as the organization could use another middle 6 forward in their arsenal. He could slot in nicely in either a second or third line center role on the depth chart with the club. Potential linemates could be Vancouver newcomer Evander Kane, Jake DeBrusk, Conor Garland, Nils Hoglander, Kiefer Sherwood, etc…

The Canucks have $3.2 million in cap space currently, which could be just about enough to make way for Roslovic on the roster. Considering his last deal was an AAV of $4 million, Vancouver may need to implement some wiggle room depending on what the Roslovic camp’s asking price is.

The 9 year vet has played 526 games so far in his NHL career, with a stat line of 102 goals and 158 assists for 260 points. In 45 playoff games, he has totaled 3 goals and 14 assists.

We’ll see where the coveted forward lands as the NHL season approaches the horizon. A decision will have to be made sooner rather than later on the Roslovic front as time is running out in this offseason.
