According to well respected Spanish outlet Sport, it is expected that 19-year-old right back Hector Fort will leave the club after the Catalan’s game against Mallorca this Saturday.
There have been plenty of rumors of a Hector Fort departure as he seems to be down in the pecking order for both fullback spots and the youngster is in need of minutes. It was said that he would evaluate his options after the preseason tour in Asia.
It seems that Fort has come to the realization that he isn’t currently in Barcelona’s season plans and to get game time he has to go somewhere else.
It is unclear as to where he will play next season as there have been links to Mallorca themselves and to Paris FC.
Whether it be one of those two clubs or somewhere else, it will be key for Hector Fort’s development that he goes somewhere where he’s a starter as he’s still very raw in his development and needs more game time to develop.
The only thing that remains unclear is whether he will be sold on a permanent deal or just a loan deal. If Barcelona sell him on a permanent deal, it’s likely that they will insert a buy back clause or a future sales percentage as reports state that Barcelona are hesitant to let go of the rights to Fort’s future.
Where Fort ends up going is still unclear but it has been cleared up that he won’t be involved with Barca this season.
