158 players yet to be registered two days before La Liga kickoff

As reported by Spanish outlet Diario AS, there’s a total of 158 players who have yet to be registered two days before the start of the La Liga season.

We often hear about Barcelona’s registration issues but it is a thing that has become common in Spanish football.

Teams are often left scrambling to try and find ways to register their new signings and receive approval from the league offices.

Barcelona have yet to register Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, Marcus Rashford, Gerard Martin, Hector Fort, Roony Bardghji, and Marc Bernal.

Celta De Vigo are also unable to sign the four signings they made in Bryan Zaragoza, Ferran Jutgla, Ilaix Moriba, and Ionut Radu.

Another team who’s struggling is Sevilla as they currently only have 14 players registered and are trying to sell their best players in Loic Bade and Juanlu to be able to register players.

The most shocking one of all is Levante who have just THREE players registered ahead of their game against Alaves. They will be scrambling to get their players registered in time and likely will, but it’s shocking to hear of a first division team in a top 5 league that has so few players registered so close to the start of the season.

As mentioned before, it’s likely that all of these players get registered before the deadline but it’s unacceptable that these many teams are struggling with registering new signings.

Whether it be the league’s fault or team’s fault, the process has to become easier as issues like this hurt the reputation of clubs and the league.
