Former Premier League striker names two Chelsea stars to wreak havoc this season

Chelsea are all set to kick off their 2025-26 Premier League season with a London derby against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the jury is still out on how far Enzo Maresca’s team can go in the upcoming season.

The Blues clinched the UEFA Conference League last season and also won the Club World Cup in July, which many believe has boosted their chances of winning the Premier League.

While some believe that they are genuine title contenders, others still feel that the Blues are one or two signings away from challenging for the title.

Chelsea have signed a whole host of attacking talent in the ongoing transfer window, and many believe that they could lead the club to domestic glory.

Joao Pedro, for instance, is one of the new boys at Chelsea, and he has made an instant impact already by scoring a few goals in the pre-season games.

Chris Sutton is excited by Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer’s link-up at Chelsea

Ahead of the new season, former Premier League striker Chris Sutton claims he has been impressed by Chelsea’s signing of Joao Pedro.

Additionally, Sutton has backed Pedro and Cole Palmer to wreak havoc among Premier League defences this season.

When discussing Blues attacker Pedro, Sutton told BBC’s Monday Night Club, “He’s had a great start at Chelsea. He seems to be a really smart piece of business… He’s versatile in that he can play a number of different positions.”

“I always think of him as a really highly intelligent player, and playing with the likes of Palmer, who’s been playing just in behind him, blimey, they are going to be a real handful.”

Sutton has good reason to be excited about Pedro and Palmer’s potential partnership at Chelsea.

Despite Pedro only joining the club in July, he has struck up an instant understanding with Palmer, and the results are there for all to see on the pitch.

The duo’s combined performances will go a long way in determining Chelsea’s fate in the upcoming season.
