The Nuggets were a game away from a second Western Conference Finals appearance in the last three postseasons, a few months ago.
Unfortunately for them, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the eventual 2025 NBA champion Thunder were in their way, eliminating the Nuggets in seven games.
Denver quickly made some major changes to their roster this summer, trading away Michael Porter Jr. for Cam Johnson, signing Bruce Brown and trading for Jonas Valanciunas.
It’s been a fairly quiet offseason for them since making those moves, but that ended after Denver made a potentially underrated signing on Tuesday.
Who did the Nuggets sign?
NBA insider Michael Scotto reported Tuesday that the Nuggets signed forward Kessler Edwards to a contract.
Edwards was a free agent this offseason after spending time with the Mavericks last season.

The contract is a training camp deal, so he is not guaranteed to make the roster just yet.
Edwards would likely play a small role with the Nuggets if he were to sign a standard deal, due to the Nuggets’ roster depth going into next season.
Either way, he would have the opportunity to be a step-up player on a team with championship aspirations.
He averaged an impressive 40.7 3P% in 40 games last season. On top of that, he shot a career-high 49.6 FG%, which was 8.1% higher than his previous season best (41.5 FG% in 2023-24).
The Nuggets will be the fourth team Edwards plays for, after stints with the Nets, Kings and Mavericks. The 25-year-old was drafted 44th overall back in the 2021 NBA Draft.
In 15.2 minutes last season, Edwards averaged 4.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks.
