As Chelsea head into the 2025-26 Premier League season, the Blues fans have every reason to be optimistic about their team’s chances of winning the league.
The team goes into the new season with momentum behind them after qualifying for the Champions League last season and clinching the UEFA Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Ahead of the new season, fans and experts are divided about how far Enzo Maresca’s team can go this time around.
While some believe that the Blues have what it takes to challenge for the title, others feel that they are still one or two signings away from competing for the ultimate domestic glory.
For instance, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes that Chelsea need to sign a world-class central defender to challenge for the title.
Meanwhile, Alan Shearer believes that the team is ready to compete for the Premier League title.

Adrian Durham backs Chelsea to win the Premier League if they sign Marc Guehi
According to talkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham, Chelsea could become the Premier League champions in the new season if they sign Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi.
Durham told talkSPORT: “If Chelsea go and get Marc Guehi back from Crystal Palace, I think Chelsea probably win the league.”
“I know I’ve said Arsenal, but we’re talking with a few weeks left of the window. So if things change dramatically, if Liverpool go and sign Guehi and Alexander Isak, there’s no competition. They’ve won the league. But I think if Chelsea improve at the back (they will win the league).”
Guehi has established himself as a key player for Crystal Palace since being sold by Chelsea in 2021.
But since Chelsea are on the lookout for a new central defender following the ACL injury to Levi Colwill, it will be interesting to see if the club bites the bullet and re-signs their former player.
