
Connor Zilisch quickly saw an incredible moment become a panicked one on Saturday.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series driver claimed a win at Watkins Glen, but he fell from his car in victory lane as he tried to climb onto the roof. He landed on his head and had to be transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
Zilisch took the pole position at the Mission 200 with a blistering qualifying lap of 1:10.884, edging out Shane van Gisbergen and Tanner Gray. He is slated to compete in the Cup Series race tomorrow, but his status has not been determined yet.

Connor Zilisch injury update
Zilisch’s fall occurred as he was celebrating his victory in the Mission 200. He tried to climb onto the roof of his car, but he slipped and fell on his head. The driver was unresponsive for several minutes before he was placed on a backboard and loaded into an ambulance.Â

The CW broadcast eventually said Zilisch was speaking with medical personnel as the ambulance took him to the infield care center. NASCAR later provided an update, stating that the driver was “transported to a local hospital for further evaluation,” adding that he is “awake and alert.”Â

A group of NASCAR fans has gathered outside the hospital where Zilisch is being treated, forming a prayer circle. Additionally, social media had many concerned reactions, as viewers witnessed the fall on live TV.
