The Sacramento Kings have a lot of different paths ahead of them. They have some multiple intriguing players and a decent load of draft picks. Kings’ trade rumors have picked up ever since the team made a blockbuster trade deadline deal to get rid of De’Aaron Fox.
Most Kings’ trade proposals right now have to do with the team landing Jonathan Kuminga. The Kings have reportedly made multiple offers to the Golden State Warriors to negotiate a sign-and-trade with Kuminga. The Kings want a young forward they can build around for the future.
That’s why this Kings trade idea from Sports Illustrated’s Ryan Shea could be exactly what the Kings are looking for.
Shea’s Kings trade idea looks like this:
“Sacramento Kings: Receive Jaylen Brown
Boston Celtics: Receive DeMar DeRozan, 4 first-round picks, 2 second-round picks
Editor’s Note: To get this deal done, these two teams would likely need to bring in a third team to balance out the salaries.”
A Jaylen Brown trade would completely flip the Kings’ future around. Right now, their core of Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis looks overmatched in the Western Conference. Turning DeMar DeRozan into Jaylen Brown would put them right in the middle of the West’s playoff picture.
Unfortunately for Kings fans, this trade won’t happen. There is no way that the Boston Celtics would trade their Finals MVP for anything less than another superstar. While DeRozan may put up great numbers, he is leagues away from Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics may have taken phone calls on Brown, but all reports indicate that nothing went anywhere.
That being said, a bold Kings trade like this is maybe exactly what Sacramento needs.
