Galatasaray eye move for PSG star amid summer uncertainty

Lucas Beraldo’s PSG career began with real promise as the 21-year-old defender instantly impressed after joining from Sao Paulo in January 2024 for €20m [$23m]

The Brazilian played 24 matches in just six months, scoring twice, and looking like a player ready to anchor the Parisians defense for years to come, but things have changed quickly.

Beraldo featured in just 38 games across all competitions in 2024/25, starting 29 of them.

He played over 2,700 minutes, but watched from the sidelines more often than not, as the Marquinhos-Willian Pacho pairing took priority.

Now, with Illia Zabarnyi set to arrive from Bournemouth, the competition for center-back spots will become even more intense, and that uncertainty has not gone unnoticed.

Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have now emerged as serious contenders to sign him.

Galatasaray line up move for PSG star

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, the Istanbul giants are considering a loan offer and will contact PSG in the coming days.

Galatasaray have already spent around €90m [$104m] during the summer window, bringing in Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane, Ismail Jakobs and Przemysław Frankowski.

But the club still wants to reinforce its defense and Okan Buruk reportedly believes Beraldo’s profile fits the bill.

While reports claimed the player wanted to leave after PSG’s FIFA Club World Cup final loss to Chelsea, his entourage strongly denied it.

Beraldo remains under contract until June 2028, but with his game time still at risk, the Brazilian could consider a temporary switch ahead of the World Cup next summer.
