Stuttgart teammate wants Nick Woltemade to remain focused amid Bayern Munich rumours

Bayern Munich have experienced a stuttering transfer window this summer as they have missed out on many of their priority signings.

While the like of Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams have rejected the Bavarians, Nick Woltemade on the contrary wants to move to Bavaria but Stuttgart are not ready to negotiate until their demands are met.

Bayern bosses have been impressed with the 23-year-old’s performances in the U21 Euros in June where he finished as the top scorer, therefore they meticulously launched an attempt to lure the youngster.

However, Stuttgart leadership have remained fixed on their stance of demanding €65m ($75m) for Woltemade.

On the other hand, Bayern launched a second bid worth €50 million ($58m) for the youngster which was duly rejected by Stuttgart and on top of that they didn’t entertain any meeting with the Bavarians.

They are drawing inspiration from other deals that have happened this summer with Liverpool splashing big money on Bundesliga stars like Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike and Chelsea also spending a decent amount on former Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.

Earlier in the January transfer window, Manchester City invested lavishly to secure the signature of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Stuttgart believe that their valuation of Woltemade is justified comparing to the exorbitant amount that other Bundesliga clubs have charged for their players in the last couple of transfer windows.

On the other hand, Bayern have reached personal agreement with the 23-year-old and the youngster, who made his national debut for Germany only wants to join the Bavarians.

What advice did Denis Undav share with his Stuttgart teammate Nick Woltemade?

Woltemade had a breakthrough 2024/25 campaign where he scored 17 goals and provided three assists across all competitions. Five of his goals came in the DFB Pokal, guiding Stuttgart to the triumph.

However, clubs all across Europe started noticing when he had a sensational U21 Euros as Germany stormed into the finals eventually losing to England.

Amid all the rumours and uncertainty around his future, Stuttgart striker Denis Undav has backed his compatriot and shared a valuable advice.

“We all want to help him so he can stay clear-headed,” Undav told Kicker. “It’s completely understandable that a player is concerned when FC Bayern calls.”

“Before the training camp, I wrote to him once or twice and told him not to read so much, not to look left and right, and not to worry about whether the fans still like him… He should just not worry too much and just give it his all. “

“He should never forget that we stand behind him, even if he leaves the club. We need him no less now than before, and in the future as well.”

While Woltemade would want this transfer saga to get settled as early as possible as it will affect him mentally therefore affecting his performances on the field.

The upcoming season will be crucial for the German youngster especially with the World Cup happening next year and him being in the reckoning of the national team.
