Xavi Simons seems to have made his mind up — and Chelsea are all ears.
The Dutch midfielder has taken a bold step amid transfer talks by skipping RB Leipzig training ahead of a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
This comes just as negotiations between the two clubs enter what many call “advanced stages.”
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Simons didn’t train with the Leipzig squad on Friday and isn’t expected to feature in their match against Atalanta either.
🚨⚠️ EXCL: Xavi Simons did not train with RB Leipzig group on Friday… and he’s not expected to be part of the squad today.
His decision is clearly oriented to Chelsea move, after deleting Leipzig from Instagram bio.

If football had body language, this would be shouting: “I’m off.” And there’s more. Simons has removed all mention of RB Leipzig from his Instagram bio.
He’s even started following Chelsea players online, which, in the digital age, is as close to signing a contract as you can get without actually signing it.

Reports suggest Chelsea are close to reaching a verbal agreement, with Leipzig asking for around £60 million.
Simons, who scored 11 goals and provided eight assists last season, would bring plenty of energy and sharpness to Enzo Maresca’s new-look squad.
Why Chelsea wants to sign Xavi Simons despite already signing three attackers?
Yes, Chelsea already has a full shopping cart in the forward section — Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, and Joao Pedro are in. But the pursuit of Simons isn’t just about numbers. It’s about versatility and creativity.
Simons can play wide or central and is seen as someone who can unlock defenses — something Chelsea lacked last season, with Cole Palmer carrying the majority of that job last season.
With Christopher Nkunku expected to leave, Simons could be his ready-made replacement. Apparently, Maresca wants someone who can both score and create — and Simons checks both boxes.
And while Bayern Munich and others were reportedly interested, Simons’ actions suggest he’s already picturing himself in blue.
