Mikal Bridges recently got paid the big bucks by the New York Knicks.
It’s really one more buck than you think.
Literally.
The Athletic’s Fred Katz shared an awesome detail about Bridges’ contract extension in a post on X on Friday night.
“In my favorite cap-nerd news of the day, the Mikal Bridges contract is NOT actually $150M over four years, league source says,” Katz wrote. “More accurately, it is $150,000,001 over four years.
“Gotta get that extra dollar.”
The news of Bridges’ extension broke on Thursday. It was reported as a four-year, $150 million deal.
And yeah, it basically is.
But for whatever reason, the Knicks threw in an extra dollar.
UPDATE: Katz issued a correction on X. The contract isn’t actually worth an extra dollar.

Bridges is certainly worth it. The Knicks traded five first-round picks to the Nets to get him.
In his first season at Madison Square Garden, he averaged 17.6 points per game while shooting 50% from the field. He’s got such a smooth midrange game and has an ability to always gets to the spots he wants for his jumper. Bridges also, of course, always plays his patented great defense.
Bridges made game-winning defensive plays in both Games 1 and 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Celtics.
He’s certainly a core piece of the Knicks’ championship contention for the foreseeable future. They’ve got one of the most trustworthy starting groups in the NBA, along with Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Karl-Anthony Town and OG Anunoby.
And now, Bridges can go buy something nice with that dollar.
And all those other dollars, too.
