NFL Training camp news: Micah Parsons drops trade bomb request, Brady pops up in Vegas, Bucs play it safe with Baker, Abdul Carter literally making noise at Giants camp

The summer heat is still shining, and NFL training camps didn’t take a break today.

From trade demands to surprise visits and rising rookies, Friday brought a full slate of storylines.

Let’s dive in:

Micah Parsons Asks Out of Dallas

In a shocking turn, Micah Parsons has officially requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This comes just days into camp and sends the organization into crisis mode.

Adam also posted this statement shortly after.

Some of Micah Parsons’ statements today:

“I no longer want to be here,” Parsons said.

“I no longer want to be held to closed door negotiations without my agent present.

“I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates.

“I have made a tough decision. I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.”

Baker Mayfield Sits Out Practice After Hand Scare

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played it safe Friday as quarterback Baker Mayfield sat out of practice with a hand injury suffered the day before.

Per Bucs Wire, Mayfield banged his throwing hand on a defender during Thursday’s session. He’s officially considered day-to-day.

The team doesn’t appear overly concerned, but with Mayfield being a central piece to Tampa’s offense, this will be something to monitor.

Tom Brady Makes a Surprise Appearance at Raiders Camp

He’s not wearing pads anymore, but Tom Brady still turned heads at Raiders practice on Friday.

The future Hall of Famer and part-owner of the Las Vegas franchise was seen interacting with players and coaches on the sideline.

Brady’s presence might be part of a culture-setting move, especially with the team in the middle of a rebuild.

One thing’s for sure: when Brady walks on a field, people still notice.

Giants Rookie Abdul Carter Already Drawing “Oohs”

Rookie linebacker Abdul Carter is making noise at New York Giants camp. Literally.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Carter had multiple explosive reps today, leading to audible reactions from the fans watching practice.

The former Penn State standout is known for his physicality and burst, and he’s already starting to justify the preseason hype.
