Terry McLaurin trade request

Terry McLaurin officially requested a trade from the Commanders on Thursday, Jordan Schultz first reported. The Commanders’ wide receiver has been with the team since he was drafted in 2019, but he’s set to be a free agent after the 2019 season.

After initially holding out, McLaurin reported to camp earlier this week to avoid getting fined every day. However, it’s clear that McLaurin returning to camp didn’t spark negotiations, leading the veteran to ask for a trade.

Despite the request, the Commanders do not plan on trading the wide receiver, John Keim reports. That’s been the case throughout contract negotiations, and that appears to remain the case as the trade request likely won’t change Washington’s plans.
