The final major of the women’s golf season heads to new territory this week, as Wales plays host to the prestigious 2025 AIG Women’s Open for the very first time.
The historic Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, nestled along the rugged Welsh coastline about 40 kilometers west of Cardiff, sets the stage for this landmark tournament.
Paris 2024 champion Lydia Ko returns to defend her crown after a composed two-shot triumph at St Andrews last year. The three-time major champ has her sights set on history, no one has successfully retained the title since Yani Tseng back in 2011.
Eyes will also be on rising star Lottie Woad, who stunned the field, including heavyweights like Nelly Korda and Charley Hull, by clinching victory in her pro debut at Dundonald Links on Sunday.
The young English phenom now enters the AIG Women’s Open as one of the top contenders to lift her first major trophy. Meanwhile, world No.1 Korda, who narrowly missed out at St Andrews last year, is still on the hunt for her elusive first win of the season and will be eager to break the drought on Welsh soil.
Here is everything you need to know about the AIG Women’s Open 2025, including TV and streaming options for each day of the tournament.
