Man United star open to Saudi move to join Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United are preparing for a major changes this summer as Ruben Amorim continues to put his stamp on the Red Devils squad.

After finishing 15th in the Premier League at the end of a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, a host of senior players are now likely to leave.

Despite winning the EFL Cup in 2023, and clinching the FA Cup crown in 2024, United’s league form has dropped off significantly in the last 12 months, and they will not play in UEFA Champions League for the second year in a row.

As part of his reshuffle at United, Amorim has drawn up a list of players he wants to offload – with Marcus Rashford already joining Barcelona on loan – and Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrrell Malacia and Antony tipped to leave.

Sancho is attracting interest from the Bundesliga with Garnacho on the radar of several Premier League club and Atletico Madrid.

However, Antony’s exit route could open up as the Middle East.

Man United star Antony open to Saudi move

Antony, who joined from Ajax for €95m [$111m] in 2022 is open to a transfer to Saudi Arabia to join former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo – and has not joined the squad for their United States pre-season tour – as he is expected to leave before the transfer window closes.

Speaking to WinWin [via Goal], his agent Junior Pedroso stated: “What I can say is the player is on the market, and there are several clubs that want to know his current status. We listen to the projects and analyse them. But he’s open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we’re looking for what is best for him.”

After a loan at Real Betis, where he scored nine goals and assisted five, United demanded at least £30m [$40m]

Betis showed interest in keeping him, but were priced out, and there are reports Saudi clubs can match the asking price.
