The Cleveland Browns enter training camp very thin at wide receiver. Outside of Jerry Jeudy, there are very few options that have proven they can be reliable.
One of those few proven talents at receiver is Cedric Tillman. He caught three touchdowns in 2024 on 29 catches, and is in line to be the No. 2 receiver on the Browns’ depth chart.
Tillman left practice on Friday with a leg injury, which had Browns fans worried their already-thin receiving corps would be getting thinner. However, it looks like they dodged a bullet.
“Browns WR Cedric Tillman is believed to be okay following the injury to his lower left leg during today’s practice — which forced him off the field,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz writes on X. “A big relief for Cleveland, who has big plans in store for Tillman. The 2023 third-round pick totaled 29 catches for 339 yards and 3 TDs in 11 games last season.”
Tillman will be playing a larger role than he has over his first two seasons. Other names like second-year wideout Jamari Thrash will have to play above their previous expectations, as well, but Tillman will be the No. 2 on the depth chart.
