Terry McLaurin still hasn’t shown up at Washington Commanders training camp.
The 30-year old star receiver is seeking a contract extension, and at least for now, he’s holding out until he gets it.
There’s one layer to the situation that hasn’t been unpeeled, except a local radio host is worried all the same.
Grant Paulsen, who appears on 106.7 The Fan in the D.C. area, wonders if McLaurin will eventually request a trade.
I don’t get why Terry McLaurin hasn’t asked for a trade.
If he’s mad enough to hold out (already foregone $150K and counting) which never happens this era, why not be willing to ask for a trade? The other guy holding out has.
Normally players holding out also ask for a trade.

Paulsen seems to be referencing Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson in his allusion to a different start requesting a trade.
McLaurin spoke earlier this month about the situation, and his voice sounded bothered by it all. It seems clear he’d like to stay with the Commanders if he can.
They probably want him, too, just not for the money he’s seeking.
It’s a tough spot, and it seems like the approach of the season should help a deal get done.
But until then, Washington fans will be worried that he might just decide his time with the Commanders is through. It wouldn’t be the first holdout to end like that.
