The summer is flying by, and before we know it the PGA Tour will begin its annual FedEx Cup Playoffs. The first tournament of the TOUR’s postseason is the St. Jude Championship, held at TPC Southwind in Memphis, TN. With a $20 million purse and only the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup points list in the field, this event has proven to be a yearly sight to behold.
Many of the world’s top players have won the St. Jude Championship, including Sergio García, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau. The reigning champ is Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, the first non-American winner since Day in 2015. who captured a four-stroke victory and became the tournament’s youngest winner in the FedEx Cup era.
