Raiders claim veteran defensive tackle off waivers after cutting ties with Christian Wilkins

The Las Vegas Raiders added a defensive tackle to the roster on Friday after releasing Christian Wilkins on Thursday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders claimed Keondre Coburn off waivers.

“Raiders claimed DT Keondre Coburn via waivers from the Titans,” Schefter wrote.

Coburn played 15 games for the Tennessee Titans in 2024, tallying 14 tackles. The 25-year-old began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023.

After being waived by the Titans on Thursday, Coburn finds a new home in Las Vegas. The Texas product could see some playing time on the Raiders’ defensive line with Wilkins no longer in the fold.

Wilkins was released by Las Vegas, as the team wasn’t happy with how he was approaching his rehab from a Jones fracture. Las Vegas also voided the remaining guarantees in his deal.

“Due to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury he suffered last season, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins contract last month and today, Wilkins filed a grievance with the NFLPA,” Schefter wrote.

With Wilkins out and Coburn in, the interior of the Raiders’ defensive line will look a bit different in 2025.
