The New York Knicks have continued to add to their coaching staff under Mike Brown, with the recent hiring of former Sacramento Kings assistant Ricardo Fois.
Brown has brought over a few familiar faces, with Fois being an intriguing one.
“The Knicks plan to add former Kings assistant Riccardo Fois to Mike Brown’s coaching staff, league source tells @TheAthletic. Fois is sitting with the Knicks’ contingent at their summer league game right now,” Fred Katz reported.
While the Knicks will continue to add to their coaching staff and try to figure things out, Alder Almo of Heavy.com recently looked at what this hiring means for the Knicks.
He noted that Mikal Bridges has connections to Fois, noting that he worked together with Bridges during their time with the Phoenix Suns.
“Brown is not only the connection Fois has to the Knicks organization. He has also worked with Mikal Bridges during their time together in Phoenix,” he wrote.

It’s unlikely that the Knicks would bring in a coach to please Bridges, but it’s also essential to consider this.
Bridges and the Knicks have a contract situation to resolve in the near future, with many expecting him to secure a new deal.
It’s possible that the Knicks could be bringing in some familiar faces to help players like Bridges. Bridges had a decent first season with the Knicks, but he wasn’t as good as many expected him to be.
If Bridges can get back to what he was defensively over the past few years, the Knicks would be in a much better position than they were a year ago, and that’s saying something considering they made the Eastern Conference Finals.
