PSG keen on strengthening one position by signing Serie A star

Luis Enrique walked away from last season with every domestic and international trophy except FIFA Club World Cup.

Yet even after all that glory his focus has quickly shifted to what more PSG could become.

The Spaniard reportedly wants more firepower in the midfield and despite having Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and Joao Neves as core options, there is a belief that French side lacks variation.

The club’s focus this summer is on bringing in someone brave on the ball, quick in transition, and unafraid to attack space.

According to Corriere dello Sport, PSG have revived their interest in Khephren Thuram, the powerful and intelligent French midfielder who joined Juventus from OGC Nice last summer.

Paris had previously tracked him before his €25m [$29m] move to Turin and never lost sight of what he could offer.

Thuram’s first season in Italy has been one of growth and adaptation with him featuring in 35 matches in Serie A and contributing with four goals and five assists.

Enrique is said to admire the 24-year-old’s athleticism, ability to carry the ball, and drive through the middle when games demand urgency and penetration.

What is the Juventus stance?

According to reports, Juventus are working on a new contract for Thuram, extending it beyond 2029 with a salary increase and are not entertaining any offers, even from the Premier League.

The club is satisfied with his performance and sees him as part of their long-term midfield plan.

PSG have also shown interest in Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez and Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.
