The Dallas Cowboys went to the same well twice in undrafted free agency.
They inked two former Syracuse Orange football stars to UDFA contracts after April’s NFL Draft.
Now, Alijah Clark and Justin Barron are trying to make the Cowboys’ roster.
Clark, a safety, received the highest Dallas signing bonus ($25,000), along with a guaranteed salary of $234,000, which lines him up to at least be on the practice squad.
Barron came to college as a safety but left as a linebacker.
“Barron seems like he’s straight from the DeMarvion Overshown factory, a slender coverage man who showed well when asked to play closer to the line of scrimmage at the tail end of his college career,” writes Cowboys Wire’s K.D. Drummond.

Barron is an impressive 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds. He also got the $234,000 guaranteed, like Clark.
These guys could both wind up on the practice squad, but there’s certainly enough potential and ability there to impress new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus even more and potentially earn a roster spot.
