Chelsea have maintained a firm transfer interest in Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for the majority of the summer transfer window.
However, according to the latest update from CaughtOffside, the winger is now considering a move to join Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford since the end of last season, but he wants to remain in English football.
Garnacho has reportedly done his homework on Villa boss Unai Emery and he is excited about the possibility of working with him.
A move to Villa Park does make sense for Garnacho as the Villans could use his skillset to add more depth and quality to their attack.
Having scored 11 goals and picked up 10 assists in all competitions last season, he is versatile enough to operate on either flank, and will help create opportunities for his teammates if Emery makes his move.

Aston Villa face Garnacho competition from Chelsea and Spurs
Chelsea and Tottenham are not pulling out of the Garnacho race at this stage, with the latter rebuilding under Thomas Frank, and speed off the mark could be vital in securing a deal for the 21-year-old.

With age on his side, Garnacho still represents a long-term prospect, but it remains to be seen whether the two London clubs will come forward with an offer.
Tottenham have maintained contact with his representatives and Chelsea will stay in the hunt until a final decision is made.
