Arsenal stalwart welcomes Noni Madueke with a heartfelt message

Arsenal have had a stuttering summer transfer window as they have secured some great players but also struggled to sign attacking players.

They are still unsure about the move of Viktor Gyokeres, but fortunately, they secured the services of Noni Madueke, who joins from Chelsea for a fee slightly higher than £50m ($67m).

While Madueke’s signing wasn’t the best received by the Arsenal fans, as most of them felt they could have pushed for Rodrygo, who could potentially leave Real Madrid.

However, Arsenal star midfielder Declan Rice didn’t leave any stone unturned to welcome the 23-year-old to North London.

Arsenal uploaded a video on their socials where Madueke was seen reading the letter from Rice, and later he appreciated his compatriot for the kind words.

Rice believes that Madueke could be a statement signing for Arsenal, providing strength and depth on the flanks.

It is said that the 26-year-old and Bukayo Saka had a significant role in helping Madueke move to North London this summer.

What did Rice write in Madueke’s welcome letter?

There was a lot of negativity around Madueke’s signing, and the club needed someone like Rice to step up and change the narrative around the England international.

Arsenal fans started a petition labelled #NoToMadueke ahead of the signing, and it was shockingly signed by more than 5,000 fans, while others blamed Mikel Arteta for this deal.

Madueke could be a great addition to this stacked Arsenal team heading into a make-or-break season for their manager, Arteta.

“Welcome to the Arsenal family. Noni, my brother. I’m buzzing for you to join the club. We’ve got an unbelievable group and everyone is looking forward to playing with you. We are going to enjoy special moments together and bring success to this club, which everyone wants, and you are going to be a massive part of that,” Rice wrote in his letter.

“Knowing you as a person and as a player, your arrival is going to be a big statement, and I know you’re going to be incredible for us. You have so many qualities already and so much capacity to keep growing with us. Looking forward to seeing you in person and if you need anything, shout me. Big love, bro. Dec.”

The former Chelsea man responded with gratefulness, as he said, “Appreciate you, bro, thanks.”
