Chelsea set price tag for out-of-favor player as ‘direct contact’ made

Chelsea have made big signings this summer, and some of them are already paying off.

The club is also looking to offload players, with a growing list of names looking to secure regular playing time.

One such name is Renato Veiga, who spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Juventus.

Veiga impressed in the Juventus backline, but the Serie A club chose not to make a move for the youngster.

What is Chelsea’s valuation of Veiga?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea value Veiga at around €40m amid interest from multiple clubs.

Romano has also reported that Atlético Madrid have made direct contact with Veiga’s camp, and the defender is interested in the move.

Atlético were interested in Tottenham’s Cristian Romero but have since turned their attention to Veiga.

Romano had previously reported that Bayern Munich and several Premier League clubs are also interested in Veiga.

Chelsea purchased Veiga for around €14m, and his sale would see the Blues secure a significant profit from Veiga.

Chelsea have already received a major financial boost by winning the Club World Cup, and their sales could help fund more transfers and balance their books.
