How much did Scottie Scheffler win at the British Open?
Scheffler is taking home $3.1 million for winning the British Open. That’s the same figure Xander Schauffele received for winning the tournament in 2024.
Scheffler’s winnings come in slightly behind his PGA Championship winnings from May, when he received a $3.42 million payout for winning at Quail Hollow.
With four major championships under his belt, Scheffler has now won $12.82 million in prize money from major victories alone. Three of his four victories have resulted in a payout of at least $3 million, with his 2022 Masters win the only one that came in at less than $3 million.

British Open purse 2025
The Open Championship purse was $17.1 million this year, even with the tournament’s 2024 purse. 2025 marked the first time in 13 years that the British Open didn’t increase its total prize pool.
While The Open lags a bit behind the other majors in terms of total prize money awarded, the winner’s payout has tripled since 2014, when it still lingered under $1 million.
