
Haotong Li will be in the final pairing on Sunday at the 2025 Open Championship, playing alongside the best player in the world in Scottie Scheffler.
The native of Huan, China is a member of the DP World Tour and has taken Royal Portrush by storm this weekend, a two-under 69 in the third round. He’s had some success on links courses before, as he finished third at the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Last year, Li was the first player from mainland China to compete in a President’s Cup. This year, he has a chance to become the first Chinese competitor to win a golf major.

Where is Haotong Li from?
Li was born in Huan, China in 1995 and currently resides in Shanghai. He became a professional in 2011 at just 16, starting off on the OneAsia Tour and the PGA Tour Australasia.
Li had some success in his first few years as a pro and was able to later join the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour China. He is now a member of the DP World Tour.

When did Haotong Li make his pro debut?
Li made his pro debut in 2011 on the OneAsia Tour. He first played in a major at the 2017 PGA Championship, where he failed to make the cut. He responded in a big way later in the year, however, finishing third in his first Open Championship appearance.

Haotong Li was born on Aug. 3, 1995, making him 29 years old. He has been a professional golfer since he was 15-years-old.
