Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez vs. Phumelele Cafu full card results, schedule for 2025 boxing fight

A unification fight between Jesse Rodriguez and Phumelele Cafu could lead to additional title fights down the line for either. For now, they focus on their super flyweight unification fight on July 19. The bout in Texas airs on DAZN.

Rodriguez (21-0) is a multi-division champion. “Bam” initially held super flyweight gold before moving to flyweight. Taking over that division, he returned to 115 and knocked out Juan Francisco Estrada to win the WBC and Ring belts.

The 25-year-old is in line to face Fernando Daniel Martinez for the WBA title if he wins. A pound-for-pound star who has grown in popularity with each fight won, Rodriguez is taking things one step at a time. It all starts with Cafu.

“Cafu is a dangerous opponent,” Rodriguez told BoxingScene. “He’s coming off that big upset win over Tanaka in Tokyo. Mentally, he’s coming very prepared. He trained at full capacity to come here to Texas and do the same thing to me.

“I’m doing the same thing on my side. I’m just ready to go, ready for anything he’s trying to bring.”

Cafu (11-0-3) traveled to Japan and beat Kosei Tanaka for the WBO title. The 26-year-old with eight wins via knockout competes in America for the first time and looks to take advantage of the opportunity in front of him.

The Sporting News will provide results from the entire Rodriguez vs. Cafu fight card.
