Colts safety Cam Bynum says Indianapolis has plenty of talent.
Bynum recently joined an episode of ‘The Insiders’ and shared why he feels the Colts are ready to compete.
“I just think we have a solid team overall,” he said. “Just every position. You can look and see that there’s amazing players at every spot–offense and defense.”
Bynum joined the Colts in March after signing a four-year, $60 million contract in free agency. He sees potential in Indianapolis, especially under a new defensive regime.
“Looking at the defense I expect a lot out of us with the new DC, with coach Lou (Anarumo) being there and just bringing the defense he’s bringing with the aggressive play-style and especially the guys up front,” he said. We got pass rushers for days, we got linebackers, our secondary is looking really good, so I just expect a lot out of us.”
The Colts have plenty of depth in various positions on their roster. The offense boasts a deep receiving core, a Pro Bowl-caliber running back in Jonathan Taylor and a young offensive line. While the quarterback position remains a question mark, there is a strong enough supporting cast that whoever wins the job will see their play elevated by those around them.
Defensively, the talent is there as well. A revamped secondary blending youth and veteran experience, a strong and deep defensive line rotation and a linebacker in Zaire Franklin who’s consistently been the heartbeat of the unit.
If all the pieces come together, Indy could hit Bynum’s high expectations.
“I just see a spark with this team…I just know, overall, we’re going to have a great season.”
