Packers fourth-year player predicted to land new contract with different team

Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Sean Rhyan is heading into a crucial season with free agency looming after this year. After not featuring much as a rookie, Rhyan has become a key part of the Packers’ offensive line over the past two seasons.

In 2023, the 24-year-old began establishing himself as a regular for the Packers. he didn’t start a game, but did play in 12 games. Then, last season, Rhyan received a larger role in helping protect Jordan Love as he started 17 games for Green Bay.

Ahead of the 2025 season, Channel 3000’s Jason Wilde previewed the Packers’ offensive line and offered a bold take, noting that Rhyan will be the starting right guard and making a prediction on the player’s future as he approaches free agency.

“They don’t come much tougher than Rhyan, and we’re not just talking about how challenging his interviews tend to be because when he gets excited about a topic, he unconsciously lets the expletives fly,” Wilde wrote.

“From barely playing as a rookie, to getting suspended for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy, to basically being called out of shape by the coaches in training camp and early in the regular season last year, to the staff giving Morgan every opportunity to take his job, Rhyan answered the bell every time he was challenged.

“That’s why the guess here is that he’ll do so again — by having a strong season and earning a megabucks deal from another organization.”

Rhyan will be looking for a big payday from whatever team wants to pay him what his representatives feel he’s worth. In his first two seasons in the NFL, the UCLA product had a base salary of below $1 million, but last season and this season, he’ll earn over $1 million, per Spotrac.

As a result, Rhyan will likely sign with the highest bidder as it will allow him to receive his first major payday in the NFL.
