Robert Lewandowski is reportedly back for Poland — and he’s not asking for much, except maybe a few more goals.
The Barcelona striker has decided to return to international football following the arrival of Jan Urban as Poland’s new head coach.
The decision ends a short but dramatic break from national duty caused by a fallout with former manager Michał Probierz.
Lewandowski had walked away from the squad earlier this year after Probierz stripped him of the captaincy ahead of a World Cup qualifier.
The armband was handed to midfielder Piotr Zielinski, and Lewandowski wasn’t informed until the night before the game.
The incident didn’t sit well with the veteran forward, who announced he would not play for Poland again while Probierz remained in charge.

That deadlock didn’t last long. Probierz resigned, and Urban — who was appointed shortly after — made Lewandowski’s return a top priority. And it seems the new coach got his man.
What changed Robert Lewandowski’s decision?
The answer is simple — respect and timing. Urban didn’t waste time reaching out to Lewandowski and made it clear he wanted him back in the squad.
According to reports (via Goal.pl), Lewandowski didn’t place any conditions on his return. Not even the captain’s armband.
“Robert Lewandowski is 100 percent at Jan Urban’s disposal,” stated one source close to the situation.
That means Poland’s all-time top scorer, with 158 appearances and 85 goals, will be available for the upcoming qualifiers.
Whether he leads the team or just leads the line, his return is a major boost ahead of a crucial few months.
For Poland fans, it’s less of a comeback story and more of a “never say never” tale. Lewy may have taken a short break, but he’s not hanging up his boots just yet.
