The Milwaukee Bucks have been focused on one thing this offseason, and that focus seems to be paying off.
After losing in the first round to the Indiana Pacers, the Bucks suddenly had to deal with an abundance of trade rumors. With Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future up in the air, it seemed like there was a realistic chance the two-time MVP might play elsewhere next season.
So, the Bucks went to work in the offseason, waiving and stretching Damian Lillard to bring in Myles Turner. Along with that big move, adding Cole Anthony and re-signing some key role players has put Milwaukee in a position to compete in a relatively weak Eastern Conference.
While the trade rumors haven’t gone away after those moves, the Bucks seem to be confident in their ability to keep Antetokounmpo happy. At Summer League, Bucks president Peter Feigin had some encouraging words for Bucks fans.

“Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis,” Feigin said. “We are in a good place, we feel great about it. It’s business as usual. I think we get a fun little joy in everybody else thinking they know what’s going on and what the clickbait is, but for us, we’re in a good spot.”
With Feigin looking forward to next season with Antetokounmpo leading the way, there is no doubt that the offseason moves played at least some role in getting the 2021 champion to stick around. Antetokounmpo has been outspoken about his desire to win another title, so if he believes it can happen in Milwaukee, he may never wear a different uniform.
