Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami bagged a 2-1 win against Nashville SC in the Major League Soccer on July 12 at Chase Stadium.
Messi scored a brace, one in each half, against Nashville to lead Inter Miami to their third successive victory in the league since their elimination from the Round of 16 in the Club World Cup.
Along with this recent win, Messi has also added to one of his own records in the MLS.
By netting two goals against Nashville, the Argentine icon extended the MLS record for scoring multiple goals in consecutive games to five.
Prior to the beginning of the Club World Cup, Messi scored two goals each against Montreal and Columbus in May. The 38-year-old then went on to continue his streak of scoring braces in the Herons’ next three league games against Montreal, New England Revolution, and Nashville, respectively.
Messi has now scored a total of 16 goals in 16 MLS games for Inter Miami while also providing six assists.
