
Marcus Rashford’s uncertain summer has taken another turn on the back of Manchester United previously making it clear he is no longer part of their plans.
The England international looks certain to move on from Old Trafford after a mixed loan stint at Aston Villa in the second half of last season which did not lead to a permanent deal at Villa Park.
Unai Emery declined the £40m [$54m] option to buy him, and Rashford has since returned to Old Trafford, with his future in the balance.
Rashford is currently not training with the Red Devils senior squad, after a request made by Ruben Amorim for him to follow a solo programme at Carrington, which has reinforced the growing belief he will leave.
In the latest twist in Rashford’s likely exit saga, the club have opted to give his No.10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha, as his representatives remain locked in talks with Barcelona.
Rashford makes Barcelona decision after Saudi interest
According to reports from Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old has already rejected a £34m [$46m] per year offer from one Saudi Pro League club.

Despite the financial lure of Saudi Arabia, Rashford has made clear his priority is to join Barcelona this summer.
Rashford is willing to lower his salary amid a proposed a loan deal, that includes a future purchase clause worth between £25-34m [$33-46m], which Barcelona are considering, as they continue restructuring a bloated wage bill under La Liga’s financial rules.
While the Catalan giants are still juggling the numbers, and haven’t made a formal offer yet, there is a growing belief that the move could happen.
United start their preseason campaign against newly-promoted Leeds United on July 19 in Solna – but Rashford will not be involved – with a first Premier League game of 2025/26 against Arsenal on August 17
