Mike Brown sings high praise for Jalen Brunson

Mike Brown was officially introduced as the next head coach of the New York Knicks earlier this week. Replacing Tom Thibodeau, Brown will have a lot on his plate very early in his Knicks tenure.

Brown has coached many superstars throughout his coaching career. From LeBron James, to Kobe Bryant, and to Stephen Curry as an assistant coach. His newest challenge features another superstar in the form of Jalen Brunson.

At his introductory press conference, Brown sung high praises for his All-Star guard, lauding Brunson for everything he brings to the table offensively.

“The first thing is, everybody knows I like to play fast,” Brown said. “Like I said, we have an outstanding roster. I’m excited about that. And to have a guy like Jalen out there gives you the versatility to play all different types of ways, which is what it’s going to take throughout the course of a ball game.”

Brunson has risen to superstardom since landing in New York, averaging 26.4 points per game in three seasons with the Knicks. In each of the last two seasons, Brunson has been named both an All-Star and All-NBA.

After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last season, Brown and the Knicks will have some lofty standards to meet in year 1 together. Anything short of an appearance in the NBA Finals could be viewed as a disappointment for the Knicks next season.
