NASCAR lineup at Sonoma: Starting order, pole for Toyota/Save Mart 350 based on qualifying results

NASCAR’s Cup Series will head out west to Sonoma, California, for the 2025 Toyota/Save Mart 350. Hopefully, you like road courses, because the Sonoma Raceway is another road course, and follows last week’s road course in Chicago.

There are just seven races left until the NASCAR Playoffs begin. That is more than a month away, but drivers are running out of time to earn those crucial playoff points. Also, many Cup Series competitors feel very strongly one way or the other when it comes to road courses.

This weekend’s race in Sonoma could be an important one for those who like to rise up the leaderboard. There will only be one more road course this season, when the Cup Series heads to Watkins Glen on August 10.

Here is the starting order and pole position winner for the 2025 Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Who won the Toyota/Save Mart 350 pole for 2025?

Shane van Gisbergen continues to be an absolute force on road courses. He is coming off a win in Chicago last week and earned another checkered flag at the 2025 Viva Mexico 250 street race last month.

The Cup Series split the race field into two qualifying groups. Each group got 20 minutes to run as many laps as they wanted to set their best qualifying time. The results for the groups were then merged into one starting lineup. Van Gisbergen needed just four laps to set a best lap time of 74.594 seconds, which proved the fastest of the day. This is the third pole for van Gisbergen in the 2025 season.

Chase Briscoe was right on his heels, running a 74.844-second lap. He will join van Gisbergen on the front row for Sunday’s race.
