2025-26 NBA Cup group draw & reactions

The NBA Cup will take place for the third season in a row, in the upcoming 2025-26 season.

On Wednesday, the teams were revealed for each of the six groups.

What are the six groups?

Each conference has three groups with five teams per group.

East Group A

East Group B

East Group C

At a quick glance, Group B looks like the most competitive group in the East.

Outside of maybe the Nets, all four other teams are likely to be playoff teams come next Spring.

The Magic and Pistons are bound for big years after strong 2024-25 campaigns, and the 76ers will be back healthy with some new additions.

Group C appears to favor the Knicks, but the Bucks and Heat could always make a run at winning the group.

The Hawks and Cavs stand out in Group A as the two front-runners, as we don’t completely know how to judge the Pacers for next season as of right now.

West Group A

West Group B

West Group C

Starting with Group A, the Timberwolves and Thunder stand out as the two representatives from the 2025 WCF.

The Jazz are in a rebuild, but you never know what you’ll get out of the Kings and maybe even the Suns.

Group B features a new-look Mavs team along with a revamped Clippers roster.

The Lakers are there too, which, of course, is significant, along with the Grizzlies.

Group C is the standout group in the West, with four potential high-seeded playoff teams.

Although the NBA Cup isn’t as sought-after as the NBA Finals, it’s a fun way to bring extra competitiveness to the NBA midseason, so we should be in store for some fun matchups.
