Bucaneers legend has high praise for Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is without a doubt one of the best receivers in the NFL, and proved as much last season when he won the receiving triple crown. Leading the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and touchdowns (17), Chase had the best season of his young career so far and the rest of the league has taken notice.

One player who has taken notice is surely a future Hall Of Fame selection, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Mike Evans, who recently had the highest praise for Chase. Having played his entire career so far with the Buccaneers, Evans has eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving in every season, is a 6-time Pro Bowl selection, two-time Second-team All-Pro selection, and won Super Bowl LV.

During the Buccaneers’ minicamp, Evans named his top wide receivers in the league, saying he would normally say he’s the best, but Chase is the only wide receiver he’d put ahead of himself. Asked to name his favorite young receivers in the NFL, Evans named a few but only put Chase ahead of himself.

Ja’Marr Chase. He’s a guy where if you said he was better than me — I don’t think anybody’s better than me — but if you said him, I would understand. So Ja’Marr, Justin Jefferson, Nico Collins, Drake (London). (FOX Sports)

Chase has set the league on fire since he was the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, and his connection with Joe Burrow is a big reason for the high-level production. The former LSU Tigers have carried over their superstar chemistry to the NFL and have become one of the best QB-WR duos in the league.
